Looking for volunteer/intern in NE Oregon

We live on 80 acres in NE Oregon, near the Wallowa Mountains. I've been practicing permaculture for many years. I previously lived on 2 acres but we bought this place one year ago and so are starting over from scratch. I raise kunekune pigs, katahdin sheep, chickens, rabbits and dogs. We are in our early 50's and both self employed. I work mainly on the farm but also part time for a land trust. My partner Peter is a builder.

I am the animal and plant person and could use help getting my systems up and running as well as help with the daily chores. I have lots of plans and ideas but I'm sure you all know what it is like to dream up more than only two hands can accomplish. I'd love to have help and you would have the opportunity to learn quite a bit.

Initially we would offer a bedroom and bathroom in our home with use of kitchen. There is a nice little cabin on the place that could be fixed up as a sweet tiny living space for one person or a couple. No plumbing or electric in it currently. I raise all our own meat and would be willing to provide a share if that interests you. If you are not a meat eater this might not be the most comfortable place for you.

I'd like to hear more about what you are looking for and what skills you have or want to learn.

Hey Sue! My name is Patrick and (unfortunately) I grew up in the city, but that didn't stop my interests by limiting me from what I enjoy. Which are animals, self sufficiency, graphic design and so much more. I'm going to be 20 in July and ideally I'd love to become a part of something greater than myself and while doing so, better my own lifestyle in turn.

A little about me:
I'm very active and ready to do any labor needed around the land. In return for a place to sleep, and food. I don't have many needs and most of my time I wish to spend outside.

I have no strings to where I'm living (Wisconsin) and I would like a chance to begin learning more about self sufficiency and farming.
I worked at a pet store, taking care of animals (whilst in good time might I add) is very easy for me.

Hello Sue, my name is Michael, nice to meet you. I am currently a ranch maintenance worker in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. It is a horse ranch where we breed and raise horses. I have been working here for 13 months. I moved to Oklahoma from Dallas, Texas, where I worked on a horse ranch for 5 years as a hand. I was also working at UPS part time, worked there for 10 years. I am no stranger to very physical, weather affected labor. Before UPS was in nursing taking care of people. Was a certified nursing assistant for almost 10 years. I also have a lot of love for animals and people. I am 39 years old, very physically and mentally fit. I have wanted to live in the Pacific Northwest, most of my life, just have never had an opportunity to move. Ranch/farm life is the life for me I feel at home on the ranch, best jobs I have ever had. With my experience I feel I could be a good asset to any farm or ranch. I also want to learn more, maybe some day be able to start one of my own. I also have guardianship over my two month old grand daughter and I've a fury baby, he weighs about six lbs.

I'm currently attending school online full-time. My career path takes me to new heights as a naturopathic doctor.

The reason I'm wanting to leave a stable and secure job, I'm sure you want to know. I'm ready to get out of the city life and go back to my country roots. I was raised in mobile, Alabama and I miss the country air. I'm ready to explore new opportunity. My job as a police officer places me in obligations that warrant me to make negative changes. I'm constantly reminded of mean and evil people. I'm subjecting to gun violence, child abuse, deadly accidents and police suicide. I'm ready for change. I'm ready for positive changes and new inspiration.

I'm a hard worker. I'm dedicated and a team player. I don't smoke, don't do drugs and rarely do I drink a glass of wine.

I'm also in to yoga and I can teach meditation and nutrition courses.

Also, I'm a vegetarian and I'm educated in non GMO/gluten free diet.
I'm looking for a place that I can work in exchange for housing.
