Solar Heater & Ductwork

I have an idea for building some solar heaters and connecting them into my ductwork for my house. However, the question I have is whether or not that would be futile effort? Distributing the heat throughout the house sounds appealing, but I do not know how much heat there is and if trying to distribute it this way would dissipate the heat too much. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.
