Fertilizer Before Winter

I was trying to hold off to fertilize as long as I could as the fall is lasting longer than usual here in Thunder Bay, Ontario and it snowed Oh no. However, it wasn't cold and it melted right off. My question is .... should I still put my winter fertilizer on still? Or have a goofed and missed it?

You missed the best time by about a month. You could still put it down but you would want to reduce the recommended amount by 1/3 to 1/2 at this point so you don't over fertilize.

Okay I'll reduce by half but it's been constantly raining so I'm patiently waiting

I hear you on the rains, we just received 5.6" in two days here. Good luck.
On occasion I've run the spreader between rain showers, sucks but for some of the turf I was in charge of needed me to get it down when I had the chance.
You can do little patches if necessary, just mark them so you don't go over the same spot twice by accident, I use surveyor flags on wires for that.
