My name is Nigel Wilson and I am planning on moving from Ohio to New Orleans in January. I recently completed my bachelors degree in math education and will be seeking work in a school for next fall. Meanwhile I will be living super frugally and getting to know the city. I have been involved in sustainable agriculture for the last three years and want to find a place where I can garden in New Orleans as soon as possible when I arrive.
This past summer I built a tiny home on a 5x8 foot trailer and I will be bringing it along with me. In the long run I intend to buy land and build a permanent structure but an ideal situation for me for the first year would be to trade work for a place to park my trailer. I should note that the trailer does not resemble a house from the outside, as many tiny homes do.
Are there any community gardens or intentional communities where this would be possible?
