Thanks Thomas.... it was a typo in the original and as you guessed, had I continued to read further through the list I would have seen "grass suppressing" in the next examples.
I have a variety of onion relatives under each of my apple trees. So far, Garlic Chive Allium tuberosum and Canada Onion Allium canadense are the most prolific and can form a nearly solid carpet of deliciousness.
