I just found a source of old broken chimney bricks. These are not the sort of little bricks that a person might find in a woodstove, or fireplace, but were made to be used in a chimney. Most of these 'bricks' are broken. There are large blocks with a smoke hole six inch (I think) through them. If I had my guess, if they were complete (not broken) they would be roughly 18 inches square is my guess, and roughly 6 inches thick. I didn't have a measure tape when I viewed them this afternoon. But I can have as much of the heap as I want. But do I want it? And where do I want to use it in the rocket stove mass heater? Or do i at all? I was thinking of the feed tube, and the manifold, and the burn tunnel, but i'm not sure of the latter two... or really any of it. Also, I could just use the material as a sort of urbanite for other projects. Either way, I think that I will take it to my place.
