The Atlantic has an interesting article on how fungi apparently let trees share carbon in large quantities

They don't really know how it works, or what the implications are, but it's another indication that the natural world is connected in more complicated ways than we know.

I've seen this before. A study added radioactive carbon to the leaf, and it ended up in another tree! This was in a video on plant communication. It was fascinating! Certain plants will avoid competition with genetic family members, but compete with those that are not related. Certain plants will communicate with bugs via smells and others to attack a pest out break.

It led me to wonder what devastation we cause ourselves when we sterilize ourselves.
