It's taken 6 years of patience, planning and a lot of sweat, but the final section of our farm is finally sculpted and ready for trees (fruit, nut, locust) bushes (mulberry, honey berry, elderberry) and grains for grazing silvopasture style. Would have love to do keyline, but we are laden with billions of quartz rocks which would destroy any plow so we opted for hugels and gentle swale berms on the recently cut area and terraces edged with 12"x12" swales on the edge of each. We planted over 100 trees on the terraces last year and only lost 2.
