We're in the beautiful Ozarks of Missouri. Four seasons for sure. People grow them around here but we're looking for something organic. I guess not many permies grow hops. Thanks.
the lack of information might be an indication of how easy hops are to grow instead of a symptom of unpopularity. lots of folks grow them out here, whether or not they're into
permaculture.
build a
trellis or plant some next to a tree to climb. they'll easily climb 20 feet. mulch would certainly help hops establish. well-drained dirt treats them better in my
experience, but they're relatively adaptable. they frequently escape cultivation in Yakima and grow in ditches and landscaping.
