Hi everyone, I am a 31-year-old American currently traveling in Australia (currently in Perth, WA). I am on a Work and Holiday Visa, and am looking to extend for a second year. The Visa I am on (462), requires that I work in farming, tourism, or hospitality in a region North of the Tropic of Capricorn in Western Australia, Queensland, or Northern Territory for 88 days in order to extend for a second year (unlike the Visa for Europeans which accepts regional farm work anywhere in Australia). Apparently this is a recent change that has been made to this Visa, because previously I thought that I could not extend at all.

I have spent much of my time here WWOOFing on various farms in southern WA, and am very interested in permaculture and sustainable farming/homesteading. A job related to this would obviously be ideal, but I would be also open to any leads for any jobs that would fill the requirement, as I would really like to extend my stay. During my wwoofing experience I have cared for chickens, sheep, and emus, performed general farm maintenance such as mowing and weeding, pruned olive trees, and bottled and packaged olive oil and other products. I would really appreciate any leads, if anyone has a place on their farm or knows someone who might. Thank you in advance!

You don't know me, but I've been looking all over the world for. Thanks to the help from this tiny ad:
