I had a wonderful red amaranth growing, however the content of the seed packet was such a pity that I grew orange headed amaranth from the health food store mixed with it. The red one actually yielded equally.
Which high yielding red amaranth varieties can you recommend? (Next time I plant it seperately) I guess that this one is nutritionously superiour.
How can I threash amaranth (smaller quantities) in a less time consuming way?

To thresh amaranth, I cut the seed head off, and bash it against the inside of a bucket or garbage can. That produces a pretty clean seed so a light winnowing cleans it the rest of the way.
