I found these boiling out of my soil when I dug in to plant, I have found a pocket of these in the fall as well. I took the photos after tossing them on the ground for the chickens, they were in a giant wiggling mass before digging the out. Please help me identify them and let me know good or bad(I'm assuming bad) and what to do about them😳

There's a grub that looks a bit similar to this that lives in the sawdust we put under some floor mats for insulation in Ladakh; I think it's the juvenile of a plain kind of black beetle, which doesn't seem to eat plants or infest the garden. But I really don't know what your grubs are.

Thanks for responding Rebecca, I think if I find them again I will let my son raise a couple and see what they turn into😖
