Good afternoon,

I am currently in the process of starting a Barnraiser campaign in hopes of acquiring my first couple of acres to farm. My main goal on this property is to offer ready areas for Homeschooling families and Women's Shelters to come and grow their own fruit and vegetables.

I have sent out a couple of emails to programs in the Houston area, but have not heard anything back. Is anyone aware of how to go about this idea? I am trying to get all these questions answered and organized before i launch my campaign.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thank you for your time.

Howdy Nikki , I had to do a web search to see what a barnraiser was, I hadn't heard of that. Maybe we can help you flesh it all out if you tell us more about what you are thinking of doing? Maybe a bit of brainstorming will help get your thoughts down?

Good afternoon Miles. Barnraiser is actually very new to me as well. After some soul searching recently,  I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not satisfied with  the city life and what I'm currently doing. I was raised on my grandparents farm and that type of lifestyle is just engrained in me I guess. I am realistic in the thought that I won't be able to farm full time and make a living so something small is what I'm hoping for. Land in the Houston area is crazy expensive so I'm starting the barnraiser to help with those costs. My goal for now is to have an area to personally grow, and have separate areas that are set aside specifically for Homeschool programs and families and for Women's Shelters. I'm really hoping to gather some interest in my area before starting the campaign but really don't know how to start.

Sorry, I  know that's kinda long.

See ya later boys, I think I'm in love. Oh wait, she's just a tiny ad:
