Calling all Lucuma experts!
Who has grown this in socal? I've read in Lost Crops of the Inca that this plant produces about 500 fruits up to 1kg each per year.
In general I haven't found too much reliable info about this plant. Apparently it has a deep root system and produces well even in drought.
How well has it performed for you in Southern California without irrigating?
A couple internet sources say this is a tree for full shade to partial sun:
