Hi folks
I'm new to the forum and hail from New York City, Queens specifically. I have a small garden plot here and want to get some gardening skills under my belt. My family also has a small place upstate (northern Catskills) with 8 acres that I'd like to start doing some work on. The end goal is to use the existing place upstate and get a self-sufficient smallholding up and running. Not sure if the existing place is a good location for it in the long run, but whatever I do there will help the area and give me a place to learn so it seems like a good starting place to me.
Anyway, rambling now... so, hello

Hi Tribalwind,
I went to a few of the NYC permaculture meetups several months back, but things came up and I haven't been able to go for a while. I made it to the mead workshop a week or so ago. I'm hoping to get back to the regular meetups next month. The group has some real good people in it. Hope to see you at an event.

damn i almost got to that one too' how was it? ive been sluggish and shut in all winter.
yesterday i did the Polar bear club swim in loong beach, that woke me up!
i really want to make my own mead someday ,
we have a meadery in long island me and friends buy from.
i took an 'afinity' workshop at the southeast permie  convergence in 08
but not confident on my notes'.our rawfoods potluck gets great raw organic honey for $17/5lbs. i think it'd be perfect for mead.

Matt
