Hey fellow permaculture enthusiasts! I ran across three scythes with snathes that look to be wholly intact. The handles will need to be replaced and the blades need to have the rust removed/ edges sharpened. I want to get at least one working well so that I can mow my lawn with it. I live in the state of Kansas and have no idea who to contact about restoring these scythes. From the small bit of research I've done I guess there are two main styles of scythes: American and European. I think I might have both styles.... Any help would be appreciated! I can post pics if you all would like.
Pictures would certainly be helpful! In particular, photos of the hardware, grips, blades, and any cracks, chips, splits, warps, twists, loose hardware, etc. so that the best course of action can be taken with them.
