An off grid rural ecologically-minded community in Western Colorado seeks an experienced farmer/caretaker for a community building, a forming community garden and a future food forest. The opportunity is long term and if we are a good fit the caretaker can become part of the community as a member with a space to build a small energy-efficient natural dwelling. Most food can be sourced from the garden and lets us approach self-sufficiency. We are looking at a self-directed hard working individual (or a couple) who have the skills and enthusiasm to design and create the most beautiful environment for all of us and the future generations to thrive in and inspire others. The community is taking care of 16 acres at 7,ooo ft elevation and is surrounded by pristine mountainous public
land, yet it is close to the highest concentration of organic growers and progressive town of Paonia, CO.
We are looking for a long term 20-hour-per-week commitment with benefits of growing your own food while working and a primitive
shelter with an access to an off-grid community house with a kitchen and a bathroom. There is a possibility of building your own natural shelter and becoming part of the community.
