Noble fir has one of the highest strength to weight ratios of any wood and is therefore an exceptional wood for your purpose. It has been used in aircraft manufacturer and for roof trusses due to this quality. In some areas it is known as Larch. The only negative I can think of is poor rot resistance so you would need to treat any poles which are being embedded in dirt, gravel or concrete and take necessary steps to prevent moisture wicking.
