Was needing a latch for a gate and just didn't have the money. looking around, I found two old bearing races. Some bailing twine and 1x boards and I have a new latch/catch. Working good so far, and I have a difficult horse. Added a extra piece because of her. Here are some pictures.

What design do you use or have created out of necessity?
