To be clear, these are not about "permaculture", I don't know of any that are specific to subtropical or tropical plants. These are just my favorite sources of info in general on these subjects.

Sounds like your looking for "Permaculture Plants" by jeff nudgent and associates. This is one of my guys without him recording the infamous 1983 permaculture design course which it seem's anyone who's somebody today attended, I would be missing 500 hour's of my life full of original foundation permies goodness.
