Not exactly organic, but..... for a one time use not necessarily a bad choice. I believe even Bill Mollison suggests the use under the proper circumstances in the Designers Manual.

That used to be the method of choice for getting rid of stumps and boulders. Even as late as the '70s, I could just walk into a feed store, buy a case, and walk out. I would imagine that today, you would have to jump through all kinds of hoops just to buy a box of blasting caps, yet alone a case of dynamite! The guy I was working with sent his 16yo daughter back to the store for another box of caps. No problem!
