I would be very happy to win Justin's book, I would read Chapter 2 Starting Small, and Chapter 4 Winter Gardening first. I tend to try too many vegetables at once and end up with more than I can take care of, and I've never tried to grow anything during the winter.  This could be a game changer for me.

I'm planning to start a sourdough starter this weekend and take some with me when I visit my sister after Christmas. I don't think she has a cast iron skillet so I'll take mine.

I was able to save a lot of seeds last year. I'm thinking about putting them in zip lock bags in the refrigerator.  Should I include an oxygen absorber?

Not all tomatoes are highly acidic.  The newer varieties aren't as high in acids.  Always use tested recipes.

Here in Central Texas the soil is acidic also, so all the ash from the fireplace that I've been saving is useless!  I suppose I could make soap with it...
