I am interested in drinking chicory, but not sure where to get it and even how to grow or make my coffee. I believe it is the root, but not completely sure. Since I can't have caffeine, this has been a great alternative for me, but would love to grow instead of buying.

My son bought me a Hori Hori knife and I love it. It came with a small weeder that is sharp.

I was hoping to try this with the wire tower for potatoes as my garden where I first planted when we moved here has seemed to flood more when we get a lot of rains and my attempts at planting potatoes there just turn to mush. I might go ahead and try this near my raised beds. Even if I get a few pounds, it is better than what I have gotten. Been trying to figure out where I could put another garden, but may need more raised beds.

Welcome to Permies. You should do well with all that acreage. Plant what you know people in your area are wanting. Also plant some herbs and herbal flowers.

After your tweeking of the pictures, I like the first one. It looks more appetizing than the second book.

I like the first one because people recognize it. However, on the second one if the baguettes were not on it, I think it would look better and people would enjoy that one.

I do have a new apple tree planted, but not very big yet. So I hope this may help. Thanks for all the replies.

Hoping someone can give some insight into my poor apple tree. I have only had one good crop of apples in the last 5 years. Live in central Kansas. I need to prune it as I know this could help. But this year, I only had about 4 apples on the tree even with the apple tree full of flowers.

So living where I am, we are dealing with bind weed in our garden, so not sure what to do with it. Do you think a cover crop would drown it out. I was thinking clover.

I use pool noodles around my small trees. It works well. They eventually wear out and then I replace them. I paid for regular tree protection, but these are cheaper.
