I discovered pdf patterns a few years ago and just went nuts!  You can find patterns for just about anything you can imagine and many of them are free.  I save used printer paper 'cause the back is still good, yes?  Failed recipes and such get a new life as patterns

Taping the sheets is less trouble than warping a loom or figuring out tablet weaving and you get a pattern without leaving the house.  Love that!

You can use anything for a pattern weight.  I never realized how fiddly it was to pin a pattern to fabric.  The weights get the job done with less aggravation and that makes me happy.  Go drool over the Folkwear or Tina Givens sites.  So many beautiful patterns!

Just found out about this plant.  I'll grow it on the hugel-stump and see how it fares.  Edible and the deer don't like it

Is that $200 fee per person or per tent?

What a cool project!  I'm surprised that no one has tried it yet.  I have some questions...

Natural materials - like cotton or linen thread that you can buy?

Can I use my previously woven practice bands in the construction, like the above sample?  If not, I'll just break out my faithful rigid heddle

The husband just told me that the same store also sells quantities of FRESH carrots!  Revising plans now...

I figured if anyone could answer this question, it would be someone in here...

We recently discovered a store that sells giant containers of all sorts of food products (5 gallon bucket of mayo, anyone?)  My question is, can we get one of those big cans of sliced carrots and re-can them in mason jars of a more reasonable size?

The Blue Book says to can carrots for 25 minutes, but that is for fresh.  Would the pre-canned product have to go so long to be safe?

I just finished a house dress!  There must be something in the air causing a renewed interest in a formerly despised garment.

If you like sewing, check out mrsdepew.com.  She has patterns from 1890 - 1970s and many of them are housedresses and aprons.  Mine is from the 1920s and super simple.  Fold the fabric, cut a hole for the neck, sew up the sides, done!  There is minimal shaping with some gathers at the sides over the hips.  The pattern comes with pockets (which I ignored) and embroidery patterns (ditto).

I do believe I will make more of these :)

Because of a fairly annoying ad on Gab, I learned about purslane (same thing as pigweed?).  It is a scraggly weed with juicy, oval leaves and it is edible.

Somewhat later the husband was fussing about this weed in the garden and was yanking it up right and left.  I chomped down a handful of it and told him to consider it a ground cover that would crowd out less desireable weeds.

I then planted a sprig on my hugel-stump to see how it would fare in part shade.

I am learning (mainly from Permies) that most of the weeds in the yard are actually useful plants!
