We used a smaller 5 gallon dual bucket a few times while boondocking best a fresh water source. It's not easy but it did work.

When backpacking with shower access, would wash once with clothes on than take off, wash the body and then rinse and twist and spin clothes and hang overnight to dry.

I use a bit of everything described here. I used to love freezing produce on a tray and transferring to plastic bags for long term storage. Unfortunately, even freezing can result in microplastics and I think the same may be true for plastic containers. Acidic and salty foods may leach metals from stainless steel. We really have quite a mess. I'm plant-based based but perhaps our ancestors' use of animal products for storing food was the least toxic.

Blessings, Christopher! We're creating a wellness sanctuary community on 40 acres in the Ouachita National Forest between Danville and Waldron AR and use those same words "not an escape" but place to deepen connection to self, each other, and nature. We are scientists, turned yogis and learning permaculture as we go. There's currently an open concept house with 3 bedrooms/2 baths built in 2015, greenhouse, garden, orchard, 2 car detached garage/workshop. We are blessed with lots of natural building materials and a saw mill and would love to build retreat housing and for ourselves to open the main house to community and guests. We're 30 minutes to a town but there's lots of natural beauty to explore and rarely any traffic until you get to Little Rock 2 hours away. If this might be of interest to you, please reach out. https://www.connectionprogression.us/resonate-sunshine-wellness-sanctuary

Keep shining,

Blissings, y'all! We're new to the area (near Blue Ball halfway between Danville i and Waldron n the Ouachita National Forest) and permaculture, inheriting the permaculture farm from the previous stewards. We dream of creating a wellness sanctuary intentional community retreats and wild spirituality center here and would love to connect with anyone in the area. We are starting small with new moon celebrations and open to visitors most anytime. New website in the works, but here's our existing: https://www.connectionprogression.us/resonate-sunshine-wellness-sanctuary

Looking forward to connecting with you!
