Howdy Folks! 'Introduction'? Hmm, well, let's see, here.. Currently nursing a shredded Heart... +_+ Finding much solace walking in the Woods, digging in the Dirt (of course), and deep breathing of early-am Air - with a side of Stargazing at Night. Won't 'Give Up on Love', though - this isn't 'It's Fault'. Proud Papa of 3 Amazing Young-Adult Children, Former EMT-B (NYS) avid Fly-Fisherman / Hiker / Rock-Climber / Past Surfer (before the body broke) Finish Carpenter, Kitchens & Baths / Remo (decades ago) Illustrator / Designer, and essentially now, a Mechanical / Electronics 'Engineer', and also work with / Service Medical, Industrial, & Entertainment Lasers (going on 20+ yrs, now). Small Chunk of Wonderfully-Wooded Land-Owner, still working on the Dream of a Strawbale House / Small Raised-Bed and 'Hugelkultur' Gardens, all drawing on Principles my Son is teaching me from his Bill Mollison courses / Own Permie-efforts at His / DIL's place. Works great with even 'heavy oils' (ie: hot bacon grease to get the little crispies out) May 'take awhile', but.. Ehh.. Read a Book / Soak some Vitamin Sunshine.

Have to +1 this, also. That 'Delta' (Temp differential between the ambient air, and the coils that 'sweat' the condensation) - plus the Humidity factor - is going to determine 'efficiency' / yield - Which I also concur will never be '20 gals / day' - let alone 60. Maybe if you construct one the size of a Nuke-plant cooling-tower, but..

Honestly, I'd bet you could yield as much water per day (perhaps even more, with enough 'surface area' volume) by simply 'sweating plants' thru transpiration (put a transparent plastic bag around clusters of the biggest leafy-leaves / seal, set out in full sunlight, and you can collect a surprising amount of water per bag, after just a couple hours - classic 'greenhouse effect' - great for gleaning some 'emergency water' in a stranded-out situation, if nothing else is available, etc) than this idea.

File under 'Too Good to be (fully) True'.

Given Sir Jay's 'context' (the 'Pacific North Wet', as he aptly calls it) Water intrusion - whether from just-plain Spring / Summer Deluges, or from many Freeze/Thaw Cycles over Winters - is more of a concern.

But, for Others (like myself - and perhaps You - Not sure Where 'Down Unduh' you are

So, if the 'Homework' is correct, ya's get about 20 - maybe 30" of Rain - Annually? - is that Correct? If so - I'd bet there's Some months the 'PNW' gets that inside a Month. Some areas there get over 140 inches Annually - while others, only ~20, so, again.. "Context"

Thus, for those who live where it's only an 'Occasional gully-washer' - perhaps just using the 'OEM' washers is sufficient. But - for someone in the 'Pacific North Wet', well.. Again, the 'Ounce of Prevention...' principle would seem to apply - in That Context.

RTV is also the cat's pj's when it comes to sealing any 'accessory / mount-holes', etc in yer RV / trailer / Camper-van Roof, etc - Really, Any place water needs to be kept Out on passthrus / holes, etc - RTV is yer Hero.
