Craft a Cutting Board or Serving Tray - PEA BB roundwood.sand.seven.cuttingboard

BB roundwood - sand badge
+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEA curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Roundwood Working.

This one is not extra hard, but since you’re not using glues it means you need to think through what you are doing. From a single piece, you’ll be carving out a cutting board with a perimeter trench or a slightly concave serving tray. It doesn’t need to be fancy, but should be smooth enough to not readily harbor germs as long as it is cared for.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
Carve a cutting board with a moisture trench or a serving tray with a raised lip.
Must be carved from a single piece of wood.
Use only manual hand tools.
Oil or otherwise treat the surface to preserve the wood using organic or better standards.

To document and become certified for this BB provide photos or video (less than 2 minutes) showing the following:
- Show the wood and tools you will use
- Show the process of carving
- Show the finished and treated piece
Whose rules are you playing by? This tiny ad doesn't respect those rules:
