About 10 years ago, while browsing through books and websites on alternative lawns and gardens as a first-time home owner, I came across the book "Noah's Garden, Restoring the Ecology of Our Own Back Yards" and the author, Sara Stein.

She was my introduction to the topics of urban and suburban ecology, conservation and restoration and the perils of conventional gardening and landscaping.

I'm sure many of you are familiar with her, but my searches on this forum didn't reveal any previous discussion of her or her books. I think her work is worthy of discussion here, so I thought I would open a thread to share your thoughts and opinions on her books and views on gardening and ecology and what may be added to the discussion since the publication of her works and her passing a few years ago.
