I just signed up to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I am from Saskatchewan Canada, and live on 10 acres. I work in  mine and also grow garlic and heirloom grains. My passions are lapidary(making jewelery from rocks), gardening, organic farming, aquaponics, and a real hatered for Monsanto...lol.

I am looking forward to learning from the people here and contributing when possible.

How are your aquaponics set up? You have them in a greenhouse? Need lots of heat in the winter? Or do you bring the fish inside in winter?
I live in Thompson MB, very curious how you made it work.

Hey Brent, we're Sask folk in Alberta, moving back soon. Some interesting reading if you haven't heard " Acres USA" It's the answer for loving your soil. "Small Farmers Journal" if you've considered horse power?

We are originally from Saskatoon. My wife is Metis and from Batoche. We are moving back there. I don't know if your familiar with that area, on the east bank of the South Sask river. I put together a business plan for that area twenty years ago that is still pertinent today. Because of the 8-10,000 tourists that visit the national historic site yearly, there is a HUGE potential for an intentional community right there. All those tourists and NO other business's for them to check out.

The land is fine sandy loam, lots of soft water, Pavement frontage, Aproximately $500/acre.
Email me - searc177@gmail.com - and i'll send you a copy of our prospectus. I'm presently working on a video for you-tube about this.

Hi y'all. Never had looked in this area before. I am also from Yorkton area..30 miles west though. Brent, do you have an aquaponics setup? or AQ? I'd really like to hear about your setups as I've been looking into that quite a bit lately.

I don't even know how to spell CIA. But this tiny ad does:
