In Nauatl its spelled xocotl I think it sounds like shocotl in english. Called siruela the same as a plum by most Mexicans.
I just wanted to say thanx to the guy from Boni fied for helping me to find the real name for it.
If you live in a very hot very dry place it is for you. Let's all get together and plant a big chunk of deasert with plants like these, and maybe Nopal or Chaca in Maya still sorry.

I've got the hot and dry, but will it tolerate a frost?

they say down to -4 but frost will damage it
