I am an ex-real estate lawyer, ex-martial arts instructor, chef school dropout, ex-market, aquaponics and hog farmer and current professional online poker player, and I'm inheriting a 10-acre farm outside of Charlotte with woods, pastures, a pond and commercial hoop house. I'm turning the farm into a Permaculture homestead and Regenerative Farm, with the long-term goal of using it to teach people to do it themselves and commercially for others, and I'm looking for one or more females who might want to do this with me over the next however many years.

My mother will be retiring to live here with me (she has her own Airstream motorhome and I'm fixing up a 2 bed-room house on the property), and it's my plan to a) Make the house and farm self-sufficient and off-grid using the principles of Permaculture, b) Use the farm to teach others how to do it and supply Permaculture plants, c) Grow food to feed the poor, d) Develop or get others to build Permaculture Subdivsions, where lots will have food plants and the houses will be off-grid and the clubhouses will have commercial kitchens, chicken processing equipment, and become Farmers Markets on Saturdays and e) try and start a social trend where Permaculture Subdivisions and growing food in public spaces is so common that enough people do it by 2050 to regenerate the planet.

Yes, it's going to be a lot of work, but it's also a very nice life. I stay at my farm most days, I grow fruits and vegetables, I have a bunch of farm cats and birds and sheep and a Great Pyrenees and 3 rescue horses. I do aquaponics and raise Tilapia and crayfish and I do all kinds of experiments around the farm.  I do weapons training in my woods and walk my own trails, and I need to learn how to ride them. I have other hobbies I'm good at, golf, writing, painting, chess, music, and I might have time to do them again if I had a partner in crime.  I'm fortunate in that I don't have to rely on the farm for income, but there are plenty of enterprises here that are already set up as part of my plans for building the whole farm as a system that whoever joins me could get into and monetize.

I am just about self-sufficient on everything I consume, and I'm 420 friendly. I'll eat anything, but I can also make anything from scratch. I can be a slob until it bothers me, and then I'm a great housekeeper, and I prefer to do the dishes.   And if I want civilization I'm 5 minutes from shops and restaurants and theaters, and Charlotte is just 15 minutes away.

As for who I'm looking for...basically someone I'm attracted to and gets along with who wants to go the distance with me on carrying out my plans. I'm committed to staying at this property as my home base, but as the years go by I may build an Earthship type house in the back pasture, and I'd like to have a place at the beach eventually to experiment with salt water aquaponics. I'm committed to using the rest of my life and most of my money to keep learning about how to solve the food problem.  It's my hobby, job, and mission.

The ideal person would be beautiful inside and out.  Kind, smart, open-minded, not materialistic.  Interested in living a simple life and helping others how we can.  And in all honesty I'm probably looking for a younger, perhaps much younger woman, because a) It will probably take someone younger to keep up with me - I naturally sleep 4.5 hours a day and I'll work outside 15 hours and then play poker until dawn sometimes, and b) I'm estranged from my kids over this crazy mission of mine, and if I need someone to take it over then a younger woman makes more sense too.  Also I come from a tradition and Samurai family where my older uncles had two wives who were like sisters and both contributed to running the family estate, and as an INFJ I get along better with women, so if everyone involved is happy there would be room in the homestead and the 30-year plan to bring another girl along.  I'm very private and I've chosen to work on my farm alone rather than hire help or seek volunteers until it's finished, because I don't like to be around people I'm not close to and I don't want to disappoint anyone, but I'm sure the more hands we have who are committed to living here the faster and better it will be.

If all this sounds interesting let me know, and I can take some updated photo if we message.  But basically I used to get mistaken for Chow Yun Fat in The Replacement Killers when I was younger, and now I'm going for the Samurai look for any future TV appearances in poker so I look more like Toshiro Mifune from The Seven Samurai.  Six feet tall in my socks, not sure of my weight because I don't have a scale here, but I'm size 32 in jeans and large in shirt and built kind of like middleweight MMA fighter.  Blackbelt in Taekwondo, did Judo 2 years and Shotokan and BJJ a few months each.

And yes, if you know about the MBTI, I am a male INFJ, the rarest type at 1%. I'm also kind of smart - tested by the Taiwan government at 175 IQ, their test's maximum ceiling, one of 6 kids in the country and I blew the others away once they put us in a special class. Above 99.9999% of all humans. Just full disclosure, I'm kind of different to be around than most people, I've been compared to Mr. Spock and I've spent most of my life as a loner. But I need a partner to do this now, I think.

Well let's just get serious about this, I've got work to do outside.

Here's my profile I just set up on Farmer's Only.  Hope I don't sound totally arrogant and an ass, but I just like to put all the cards on the table and let folks accept it that I'm different and weird.  Full disclosure is always best.

Hi. INTJ female here and I'm looking for a work-exchange opportunity but even better if it could be a partnership/relationship. I'm currently traveling Europe until September and so I'm looking to develop a friendship with someone before starting a work-exchange from Sept-April 2020...possibly longer if the planets align. I have a lot of flaws and I'm all for telling you every single one so that you can decide up front if you can handle them but I'm also very loving and I have a lot to offer the right person. I'm looking for a work-exchange because I'm looking to learn how to live off grid and I learn best by just doing it. I love learning and I want to just jump in there and do it. I'm going to send you a PM. If you're interested in talking more, respond to me there. Either way, best of luck.

by Matthew Walker, Ph.D. (UC Berkeley). I

Hi
If you are single, the question is why not? You have been very self- sufficient. You kind of sound not very needy, and its hard to get devotion from people who dont need it themselves.   If you are single, the other question is why?  These questions provoke for some soul searching, for me as well. Some people want more than labor, and more than company, altho at our age, those things seem harder to get, and mean more than they used to when we were younger and looking for love. I am not as young as I used to be, and do not have many hours of labor per day to devote to making your dream happen. However, I really do applaud the goals you have set, and share the values behind them. I am also extremely intelligent, but more in the well read/intellectual/artist/writer kind of way.  Id love to see your place and the progress youve made since this posting. Please let me know if you would like to chat more.

Hi there your life sounds very interesting, I couldn't help but notice that so much of what you've mentioned is your daily life, is also something that I dream of having someday. The funny thing is we also have a lot in common already. I grew up riding horses and I am quite comfortable and confident with them in all aspects. I too have a great Pyrenees he's two and a half years old and 135 lb and a big old goofy love, that is until he needs to protect me or his home and then he's a force to be reckoned with for sure. I also lived fairly self-sufficient with my children for a number of years I lived on 48 acres where I did most of my own farming fruit vegetables and herbs I had chickens and rabbits for eggs and meat although I have to admit I wasn't very good at the meat part because I couldn't bring myself to butcher my bunnies or even my chickens but I did have a neighbor come and do the dirty work for us every once in awhile. I've always been very interested in aquaponics and I'm dying to get my hands wet I have this whole pond either above ground or even below with an aquaponic vegetable garden on top and some delicious fish on the bottom for so long it's just a matter of finding the right place to bring it all to fruition I've also been dabbling with teaching myself Tai chi and qui gong I would love to learn different forms of martial arts. I'm 49 years old and currently the process of joining the Carpenters Union here in San Francisco but I'm really torn between two lifestyles while I love the city that I grew up in I really miss nature and being able to garden and have animals and horses especially and I'm pretty sure Barney would much rather be in the country then here in the middle of the city as well (Barney is my pyrenees's name). Very open-minded and have lived an unconventional relationships before so I wouldn't be totally opposed to one. Anyway that's just a few reasons why your post caught my eye and I'm wondering if you'd like to talk a little bit more about possibilities if interested you're more than welcome to contact me through my email my address is montanomarisa1111@gmail.com I hope to hear from you soon
