Taken from my Visual Diary, there is often a stand off between the blackbird and the squirrels. I have even known the blackbird to stand his ground with my cousin's chihuahua, although that is not saying much.

Lovely Blackbird filmed on the go with Moto G6, getting tidied up after a quick bath.  

Rather than rattle round all the stuff you already know I thought I would add something you are less likely to know - T.merula is capable of sleeping on the go, ‘unihemispheric slow-wave sleep’. One half of the brain sleeps whilst the other is awake. Clearly this has many advantages to their survival.

Such a beautiful song Mary, thanks for reminding me of it.  It seems mysterious to me, I don't quite understand it but maybe that's the attraction.  I could never imagine what happened with these guys that made them produce such timeless material x
