This plant, Helichrysum petiolare (licorice plant) was recommended to me for our dry, arid, hot, tropical climate. We're in a rain shadow, so we miss out on rain a lot when other places get it, though sometimes we also get dumped on, turning the area into a virtual lake for a few hours. So I'd be planting this stuff primarily in raised areas and at the tops of my swale mounds to hold soil.

But I'm having a tough time finding seed. I don't think I can find plants here (anything not native or of the well known species is hard to find in Haiti). I have a US address and delivery here is pretty smooth, though it takes a couple of weeks. But that's probably my best bet. Any advice on where to find seeds for this plant?

I just realized, they have other kinds of licorice but not that one. Try Park Seed: https://parkseed.com/silver-mist-helichrysum-seeds/p/00965-PK-P1/

For some reason I can't load that. Only gives an error.

I'm not sure why its giving you the error message. It works when I click it. You could try going to parkseed.com and then type "Helichrysum" in the search box. Does it work better that way?

Perhaps on my computer. I'll try that later.
