I have a syringe of oyster mushroom spores that i really want to start but I am not sure what method I should use. Does anyone have any suggestions? My goal is to grow it out and collect spores from it and grow more and more and be self sufficient with it. If anyone has links on anything like that they would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Stay in trouble,
-A

Alan, Wet paper, grain, wood chips or chopped straw. Put in the microwave for 2min, allow to cool and add the spore. Keep in plastic bag away from light.

Nathan has done well with spawn, I followed his suggestion and ordered spawn. I have already gotten mushrooms from the spawn. The spore I started is way behind and there are sighs of mold growing. Good luck

Thanks Richard!
Should I just poke the syringe in throw the bag and release the spores in?

Sorry to take so long getting back. Yes, what you said is how I would do it. Release the spores just up against the substrate in several spots.
