Phoenix Inspired but smaller

I live across from earthship community but it still costs to gain knowledge from there, so I pick up what I can.

I was watching a tour video of the Phoenix Earthship. I believe it was mentioned that earthships are ideal with around 50% greenhouse space of floor plan but they do not try to sell them like that because it's too unconventional. Also the Phoenix has large plants obstructing back room thermal mass of it's light(?).

I want to mimic this style if possible but small. Thinking of just using recycled materials like garbage for the south. How possible is an all bottle or nearly all glass bottle wall? I have seen the plastic bottles and would consider it but I would rather use glass. It also seems like a lot of glue expense.

Possible, yes. Time consuming, definitely.  There is a LOT of time wrapped up in making bottle bricks, assuming you can even get your hands on enough bottles.  

Your light transmission is going to be a little low, like having shade cloth on year round.  Probably a good thing in your location.  I would put in some reclaimed windows for more light and less time.

I am also planning a Phoenix inspired build, but in Tennessee so I need to deal with humidity as well.  I will be building on a steep hillside, so most of the living space will be "above the tree line" as far as heating the mass.

I'm also considering clear corrugated greenhouse panels. Recycled materials gets snatched up around here, we will see if there's any patio glass available next Spring. Maybe clerestory windows could get light past tall plants. I agree though, I should try to get recycled windows.
