My husband and I are starting a small
project in Bulgaria, where two of our kids were born and lived until 2015 (when we adopted them). We wanted to find a way to do something for the kids who will never be adopted. Our aim is to build a safe place to
land with skills that will equip them to look after themselves and thrive. Most of the kids are Roma, a minority in Bulgaria and one that is persecuted pretty mercilessly. The stats are grim for kids leaving 'care'. 3/4 of them will be trafficked for sex or crime ranging from petty theft to drugs. The same proportion will be dead by age 21.
Our son Nick (16) and I traveled back to Bulgaria a few weeks ago to look for property and reconnect with the folks we know. We're planning another trip in April. We'd love your support for this project - whether that means sharing around your networks, making a
gift, or volunteering to come and help on the project.
Thanks a bunch, guys.
