I love to see that wonderful old unit in operation! However I have to confess I was cringing every time you reached in with a gloved hand to press on the apples while the mangling wheel was spinning. All it would take is a single
thread from your gloves catching on one of the ridges to drag your hand into the machine and pulp some fingers. Obviously it's not my place to tell you what your tolerance for risk
should be, but it seems like maybe having an apple-tamping stick would be a useful safety measure.
I am a notorious wuss about safety issues, though, so take this reaction for whatever it might be worth, but not too seriously. Thanks again for showing us the machine in action!
