Is this normal for a peach tree?

Anyone know if this is normal?  (vertical cracks on the north side)

It happens to my trees all the time.
Not sure why but I just spray with my DIY insecticide after harvest, and then with my DIY fungicide at bud break.
The trees are doing fine so far.
 
And that's when I realized I wasn't wearing any pants. Maybe this tiny ad has pants:
