I am worried that I should move the hugel I just built under some pear trees because of the possibility of termites becoming attracted to the trees. Do you think I should be worried about this? Has anyone had long term success with fruit trees and hugel mounds?

No, I think any termites will much prefer living in the rotten wood of the hugelkultur.  I have not personally seen any increase in termite activity near my buried wood beds.
