I've been toting this old, moth- eaten cashmere sweater around, for years, with the intention of 'doing something with it'. I always knew it would be something with needle felting, but when I pulled it out again, yesterday (Friday - and set it aside, AGAIN, until today) it was even more holey, than before. I knew if it was ever going to be more than moth food, it was now, or never! So, I tried it on, took a few pics, and started cutting. After getting a shape I liked, it was time to pull out my old beat-up stash of roving scraps, and start playing!
My child-like felt flowers picture is just right, for the coming spring. There are hours and hours of needle pouncing ahead, but everything is at least tacked down, pretty well - right down to the heart everyone has always said I wear on my sleeve - in purple, because... PURPLE. I'm sure more detail will come along, as I go - like the big thistle, that needs detail. The rosebud needs more, too. The clouds may need some sun - or more clouds, and I'm just not sure yet, whether 2 bluebirds are sufficient. No matter what else, there will be a need to finish off the raw edges, all the way around, and at the newly shortened 3/4 length sleeves.
