With two strong voices in harmony and superb instrumental arrangements, their sound is powerful and moving. Award-winning recording artists, singers, songwriters, musical historians, playwrights, actors and social activists, Terry Leonino and Greg Artzner are proud to be, as Pete Seeger said of them, “…more links in the chain”, dedicating their lives and music to leaving this world a better place.
Sarah Anders will be our featured speaker Saturday at GreenSong2020
She is the Spiritual Leader for Church of the Wild, DC-MD-VA. Although she is ordained in the United Church of Christ and has served churches in the Washington D.C. area, she has left the institutional church to co-found the inter-spiritual Church of the Wild that recognizes ancient and diverse spiritual traditions in nature. She is a Board member for the Center of Spirituality in Nature and a trained facilitator in The Work that Reconnects. https://www.centerforspiritualityinnature.org/church-of-the-wild
Featured Presentation Saturday will be an overview of The Work That Reconnects:
In this time of climate instability and political chaos, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged. It's tempting to give up and withdraw, to "go back to sleep". How do we stay hopeful and connected when we're exhausted and afraid? How might we move from burn-out and despair to a place of connection and hope?
This presentation is an introduction to Joanna Macy's The Work that Reconnects. Joanna's work is at the interface of social action and spiritual breakthrough and has long been inspired by Rilke's Book of Hours. The sequence of this work takes on the spiral, always coming back onto itself but never to quite the same point. We'll travel this spiral beginning with Gratitude, moving to Honoring Our Pain for the World, to Seeing with New Eyes and Going Forth.
With current concern over the covid-19 coronavirus, please know that the GreenSong team is moving forward, but monitoring the situation.
a. Know that the safety of all participants is our primary concern.
b. The full impact of the virus may have largely subsided by the time of our event.
c. As a relatively small outdoor venue, we are well-positioned to provide the entertainment, workshops, and vending opportunities that other, much larger events, cannot.
From the website FAQ page: "Can I get a refund if necessary?
Yes. You can apply for a refund 30 days prior to the festival date, after that, we are unable to refund. This includes refunds due to severe weather, festival cancellation, or other "acts of god"."
Should the situation change we'll let you know - here, on the facebook page @greensonginfo, and on the website www.greensongfestival.org - in time to request a refund, so please do not hesitate to register.
Regretfully, in light of current events and the impact it is having on us individually and collectively, we have decided to postpone GreenSong until 2021. With so many Elders playing integral roles in our event, their safety and well-being, and that of our participants, are of utmost importance to us.
GreenSong presents a vision for a sustainable world moving through these times to a better future.
Going forward, Sharing and Caring must be our watchwords.
We hope that we will see you at GreenSong in 2021!
