Hi there! I sold my house/farmette and I'm moving to Portland from WV in mid-May. I would love to find a small — 2 acres or less — farmable space. I'm very open to sharing on a larger property or intentional community. If it doesn't have a house, okay as long as I can put a trailer or a yurt on it. Ideally, I'd like to be as close-in to the city as possible for work, but I'm flexible on that. I don't want to share a house unless cats are okay (3 or 4). Just prefer my own space (I'm in my 50's).
Another option — a little distressed property in the city with a big yard? I haven't found anything on craigslist; does anyone know of anything like this available?
Disclosure: I don't have a lot of money (not enough to buy a place, at any rate), and my credit report is shot from the last 2 years of living under- and unemployed in a very depressed rural economy. I lost most of my life savings with this last house and need a new start.
