I'm a little embarrassed right now ya'll. It started with thinking about those pre-charged pellet rifles and how it might
be nice to have a follow up shot without using my 10/22. But I didn't want to get one then be dependent on going somewhere to get it filled. so first I looked at those big
CO2 cannisters and thought of setting up a little filling station. but then I thought that didn't make sense, paying for CO2 when it was all around. so then I looked at how to capture said CO2. there are multiple different ways, some more toxic than others but none I was comfortable with, and it was complicated to
boot. not to mention the number of bins and chemicals I would have to store. So I almost gave up -- I have a nice springer type air rifle and it works just fine. but you know what I completely overlooked? a hand pump.
I had thought the pressures involved were too high to even think about using the simple manual pump. I'm still not entirely sure it works, but people have said they can get 10-20 shots off a single manual fill.
So in an effort to distract myself, I wanted to see if anyone else has any stories of sometime they had done tons of research or over designed something only to find out a much simpler yet just as effective method?
