Intensive spacing on sheet mulch?

Now I have my sheet mulch bed set. Can I still use the non-digging info from John Jeavon's book on Grow Biointensive (like spacing) to inform my garden design decisions?

My mulch does have a 2-inch compost layer at the top, write under the very top 2-inch layer of straw, just in case. I plan on transplanting anything I can into a 2x the diameter of the root ball hole of compost/soil inside the mulch, and anything I cant I will spread the mulch and try to put the proper amount of compost/soil for the seed.
