Hi!

I'm having problems with wood ants too close to my growing beds and apparently they are fond of potatoes. On the upside they keep slugs away and other larvaes but I would like to have them a bit further away.
I tried this winter to drive down a metal stake so they would freeze but that didn't do the trick. One of the ant nest is right up against a stone wall where I had to put electric fencing for my pigs so I had to shovel most of it away but they are at it now that spring is on the way and rebuilding fast.
It's not that i mind them being close, but two of them are just in my way. Now I'm looking for good way to get rid of them.
This Sunday is going to be freezing at night so they will be really slow in the morning which gives me a chance to do something about it, it might be my last chance!

Thankfull for any tips!

I feel you will find that coffee ground will be your friend.  Here is a post that explains:

Bryant said:  The acids in the coffee that is brewed this way will burn the ants up and by going far enough away from the obvious mound, you can be fairly certain of getting the queen in the laying chamber as well as the workers and the nursery.

I can't beleive you just said that. Now I need to calm down with this tiny ad:
