Hello;
I am learning more and more about permaculture, and more recently I read about guilds. So I plan to make one such guild for next year, as most of the plants that I'd put in there are already in the ground, and some are missing from my seed collection.
My plan is to dedicate this guild to medicinal herbs that help with sleeping and dreaming. Maybe there are better ways to do this, so that's why I'm asking this here.
I plan to have a trellis set up, so that hops can grow on it, and have plants such as artemis annua, tegetes lucida, matricaria recutita, holy basil and eschcholzia.
But how should I set up the trellis ? Should it be facing est/west, so that its shadow do not make less room for other plants behind it, or would it need to be facing north/south ?
Would those plants fit together ? Space wise it should be ok, but are there any allelopathic one that would hinder growth ? Would I need to have something else to put nitrogen in the soil ?
I live in a 8a zone, so some plants are not possible. But if you know any other plants either related with sleeping or dreaming, or that would fit better so that they all fare well, I'm all eyes.
