Hi
I’m wondering if anyone is aware of a resource that lists the transpiration rate of various trees, specifically curious of fruit trees and nut trees.

I am in SoCal near Joshua Tree with 5 acres and well in a windy area. I want to plant trees that are more responsible in this climate in terms of water use and transportation is my one big unknown. I currently mulch and use deep watering practices as well as swales where possible.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
you may want to inquire with your local extension office for evapotranspiration rate of fruit trees. This will be an average. So much is involved, soil, where the trees are planted, age and size of tree.

This website has some helpful info. Happy growing

For my next feat, I will require a volunteer from the audience! Perhaps this tiny ad?
