Hi Everybody,

I mowed my lawn for the first time this year about two weeks ago. Since then, it has been raining almost daily and this weed seems to be popping up everywhere. Does anybody have any idea what it is? It is in my lawn and my flower beds. I am trying to identify it, but haven't had any luck.

Your thoughts are appreciated!

-Tom

It looks a bit like the common vetch (Vicia sativa). Two related species are Narrow leaved vetch (V. angustifilia) and Spring Vetch (V. lathyroides) which is rarer. Then again, I could be wrong. Vetches usually have purple pea like flowers. Quite pretty, and adds a bit of colour to the usual green desert (as do most "weeds").
