Hi
I’m new and couldn’t find a search field for this thread. When I build a mound of green matter it attracts pests like cockroaches that eat my mango trees and others. I’ve read Getting Started in Permaculture by Mars. Any suggestions or guidelines for composting in this area that won’t attract snakes? Thanks in advance

I am wondering if a compost bin might work to not attract snakes, something like this:

Here is another idea that might work if using a screen to keep the snakes out:




I hope others will chime in with their suggestions.

Thanks Anne for the reply. I’m partial to using wood but wood breaks down quickly in this high humidity and heat. Ants break it down quickly. Any materials substitute recommendations? Thanks in advance
