Any >45 y.o. single/divorced male homesteaders in Michigan ?

Michigan isn't a popular state for homesteading, but it's the only place I want to be. I currently live in SW Michigan a mile from Lake Michigan. Looking to head north and create or contribute to a permanent home in the coming year. I have numerous random homemaking skills and am very handy around the house, kitchen and garden. I come with my own set of (power) tools, zero debt, a simple heart, and a smile on my face. I'm not a prepper or motivated by doomsday scenarios. I'm in it to connect with nature, live slowly and simply, and share/trade with neighbors/community. Happy to share photos and more details via PM.
